I had never seen the book prior to ordering, but was quite pleased with the purchase. The book is not all-inclusive, but does have a lot of photographs of the vintage cards. It's on my shelf next to the large Topps book which covers all their cards from 1951-1985. (That's another great book.)

I find that all Frank Slocum books captivate me and draw me in. I appreciate his attention to detail and the way he weaves a story trying to capture each year and brand of baseball cards.Granted, you will not find any GU, on-card Auto's, or any other silly chase cards but you will find yourself getting sucked into a time when things were much more basic.This book, especially, will pull you in as cards you will never be able to own - maybe you will or do already own them but I know I won't! - are presented in vivid detail on each page that you turn.Thanks Frank for this book and the others you have done. I hope to pass these down, along with my collection, to future generations. May they get as much knowledge and enjoyment out of them as I have received.
