I order 2 of these because my husband and I are going through The Meaning of Marriage in a small group study. I thought this would be good supplemental material. However, a lot of the content has to do with the DVD content. A lot of small group study's can be found on YouTube, but not these. The book has content to do on your own, with your small group, and with your spouse. I wish we had access to the videos without having to purchase the DVD. I will be trying to return them, because they have little value to us. Additionally, the sections are split differently than my small group has allocated them. If your small group is doing the DVD study with the book, this would be a great resource.
We used this guide along with the book and the Kellers video in a casual group setting with singles and couples. The study guide really helps you in using the material you read in the book. It also complements the video series quite well.
We read & discussed this book as a LifeGroup & we all loved it. We all believe that our marriages could of been positively affected if we had all had this info years & years ago! To understand that the TRUE biblical reason for marriage is, has changed our outlook on our marriages, how we treat & love our spouses & even our children. It has some facts & stats (which are daunting to say the least), full of facts & biblical truths, and if anything, it will renew your mind & heart to just how big God's love & grace is! I loved it so much that I bought it for several of the engaged/newly married young adults in our lives. I plan to reread & visit this book many times....
This is perhaps one of the best books on marriage I have read in a long time. Tim and Kathy (who wrote one chapter) spend the bulk of their time on deliverance while doing a great job of diagnosing marital issues. If you want a book that will help you feel there is more hope and that the work you put into your marriage is worth it; then this is the book for you.
Fantastic book! I highly recommend for married or singles to read. It really outlines the type of marriage that God designed in the bible. Our job as a husband or wife is to help our partner be their best future glory self.
Amazing book!! My long-distance boyfriend and I went through it and it helped produce so many good conversation for us. I feel like every couple should read this book - yearly! I look forward to going through it with him again and again.
Excellent book on marriage and the workbook is really helpful for my Sunday school class. Great assignments for homework! Arrived quickly!
DVD did not work past the 4th chapter. Too many statements in the book that are unbiblical. This book misses on so many levels. Very few scripture references used. The statements used in the book are not biblical. He also teaches that the woman is to play the role of Jesus in the marriage as Jesus submits to the Father. Unbiblical as well. Marriage refers to Christ and the Church. The wife is to play the role of the Church and the Husband is to play the role of Christ. Didn't like the book. Too far from scripture.
