FINALLY! A Practical book for the basics! XenServer can be overwhelming with the xe commands and all the layers in that syntax. I have to thank Jesse and Tim for taking the time to put something updated and practical in an easy to read format so that we work to further penetrate the market share. XenServer is second to none and the best in class - and keeps getting better!

I had the privilege (and I mean that very seriously) of being given the opportunity to preview and help edit this book and can truly say that Tim and Jesse put their hearts and souls into this and it really shows. It's been over year since a current book on XenServer was released and this one fills that gap very nicely. Above all, the emphasis is on truly practical information along with many explanations and caveats that make this volume a pleasant and utilitarian read. There is something in here for all levels of users, from first-time explorers to advanced users, and it's organized in a logical series of chapters that lead you through this quickly-evolving hypervisor. I can only hope to see updates of this nature and quality appear as XenServer continues its evolution.

Very well written for persons wanting to learn Xen. Software is 100% free use license, open source based on BSD - the parent of most unix and inspiration of linux as a free use clone of BSD. The beauty is XEN needs only minuscule resources with the ability to run on 20 year old Intel 386 just fine. It's great bare metal hypervisor with flexible dom-o and dom-u containers. You can run the same VM system used by Google, , Rackspace, essentially all the big boys. Xen's free documentation is very good and using this book covers the gaps you will encounter.
