This book is not something that you will pick up and cook with if you are an average type of cook. The recipes typically call for exotic ingredients. For example, one recipe required bats that you cooked. I usually enjoy reading cookbooks and looking through them, even if I am not going to cook everything that is in the cookbook. This is one cookbook that I wish I had skipped.

I am a filipino and have never heard of most of the recipes in this book. For me it is both a source of information and entertainment. I know i will probably never try the foods listed in the book but i do get a kick sharing these recipes with friends both filipinos and foreign.
