As a kindergarten teacher, it's impossible not to be a fan of all things Eric Carle. From his artwork, to his beautiful, accessible text, each book is truly a treasure. The latest from the Hungry Caterpillar is no exception! This is a perfect gift for any young reader... for Valentine's Day or any other occasion that you want them to know they are loved. (that would be every day!) Also very appropriate for a child to give to a teacher or other special adult in their lives... a beautiful expression of love. Thank you, Mr. Carle, for yet another gem to add to my collection.
Young and old alike....who does not like Eric Carle books? With their simple stories that always make us smile. The art in these books are FANTASTIC. Really eye catching and to me, that is so so so important to a child who is a visual learner. Actually it is great for any child (or adult...haha...like me) who needs and loves to see those bold colors and whimsical pictures. I bought this for my granddaughter to start her book collection (she is only 5 months old but hey, it's never too early to teach a child the love of books and reading). I could go on and on but I will say this small board board is simple, sturdy, colorful, and meaningful. To put words together with colorful, yet simple art.....to me that equals a classic. A winner in our home. My 8 year old daughter has the Eric Carle book about an artist who paints a horse blue. It is her go to book every time she sits down to read some for fun and has kept that book close for years!! I am sure Love from the Very Hungry Caterpillar will be a big hit here as well.
This book is beautiful in illustration and sentiment. I love reading this to my baby and watching her eyes soak in all the cute imagery on the pages. This is such a lovely way to present an already famous classic children's book. All the sentiments are so sweet and feel good energy for your little one to hear over and over again. I think that this book will be a favorite of my child's for years to come. A great gift for all the young ones in your life!
I got this in place of candy for my three year old and she loves it, definitely a cute children's book and VERY reasonably priced! The only negative is that the pages are thin (not like a typical full hard cover children's book) which makes it slightly difficult for her to turn the pages. Nothing drastic enough to lose a star!
This is a birthday gift for our little great-grandson. He enjoys books and has especially liked the Eric Carle books. We are very pleased with this book and did look forward to its arrival. It came just in time for his birthday a few days before Christmas and this makes us happy. Eric Carle does not disappoint and we love his books.
A sweet book for a child on Valentine's Day. The Eric Carle illustrations and text are lovely.I wish it had been a true board book, so that it was sturdier in little hands.If it were a board book, I would have given not 5 stars.
As a big time fan of the original very hungry Caterpillar, I had high hopes for this book, but it was nothing like the original and left me wanting more. I got it as a valentine book for my daughter and well we have only read it once and i have not missed out. For reference we read the original almost weekly. I wanted soo bad to like this book, but i couldn't.
I purchased two Love from The Very Hungry Catetpillar books for my nephews. Even though they are under the age of one, their mothers are reading to them daily and giving them the experiences of story time. I hope to eventually have the whole Eric Carle collection for the boys before they start school. As a retired teacher I could tell immediately the students that had received the wonderful experiences of being read to.
