I am so happy to see another Thanksgiving book for little folks. This one is really a good one, too. I like the photographs included with the illustrations. As a retired elementary school librarian, I used to complain that there were so few Thanksgiving books for little people and I am so happy to see this one and others being published. I love this one especially for my great-grandson who isn't quite one yet but loves books. Board books are wonderful for him. Bright Baby: Happy Thanksgiving is a really good one.
Super cute! I love the REAL photographs showing LIVE children mixed in with the illustrations. It's so important for young children to see real photographs. The board pages are very thick, also, contributing to the quality of this book!
My grand daughter loves it! I love board books for toddlers anyway. Toodlers can 'read' the book by themselves and not worry about tearing paper pages. The book is a nice mix between photos and drawings... that is different than most I have purchased!
My baby loves this book. It has super cute pictures of different thanksgiving things such as turkey and family, etc. He loves looking at the pictures and touching the pages. It has held up to chewing too!
It's not my favorite book, but it's one of my son's favorite books which is the important part. He's 18 months old and has really enjoyed it the last 3 months or so. Before that he wasn't terribly interested.
It's just pictures of what thanksgiving is typically about. Leaves, pumpkin pie, football, pumpkins, cranberries... I wasn't pleased. But my son likes it. So I am giving it 4 stars. The quality of the book is great!
Even though I did not purchase this through , I wish I would have been able to read a review that explains that all this book has in it is one picture on each page with the word. If it would have started with something like..."I am thankful for..." and then listed each item, I think it would have been much easier to call it a Thanksgiving book. As it is, I would call it more a fall book. I am a Children's Librarian and purchased multiple copies for our library's toddler program. I am trying to decide whether to send them back, and purchase something a little more true Thanksgiving!!
Cute book, my 18mo daughter likes some of the pages. Some of the word/ pictures are kind of ridiculous for the toddler set (harvest, walk in the woods...) and it annoys me how some are photos and some are pictures. Her favorite page is the last one where she yells out "dinner!!!!".
