Pope Francis: Living Lent With Passion: Encouragement And Daily Prayers

Since his election during Lent of 2013, Pope Francis has had a lot to say, and much of it has been a challenge to our ordinary ways of thinking and acting. His most challenging words, however, echo those of Jesus himself, the One who asks that we love God first and then love our neighbors as ourselves. Pope Francis’ words in this booklet are a starting point for prayer. Each day includes a suggested Scripture reading, most often from the day’s Mass.

Pope Francis is just great and down to earth Living Lent with Passion. Each day there is a very short topic to read and to ponder on. Then Pope Francis, states what to read from your bible that coincides with what he wants you to ponder. Wise Man.

The trouble with these Pope Francis books is that he doesn't write them. They are little quotes - quotelettes -from his sermons and homilies and the talks he gives at various events. Since Francis' s oratorical style is rather discursive than formally organized, you wind up with the kinds of things people used to write in commonplace books - verbal reminders of a spiritual experience. However, somebody else's reminders don't usually give you a recall of the experience. Hence this book, like the others of this kind I have read, is rather flat, spiritually.

I grew up in a non Catholic religion, and recently began attending the Episcopal church, so this is my first year observing Lent. This book is a gentle introduction to Lenten spirit, and is motivating and short enough for daily devotions. The Popes writings are non threatening for newbies and I look forward to the next day's reading

This book has beautiful and inspiring meditations based on excerpts from the writings of Pope Francis. The daily readings are meaningful but also brief enough to make it easy to keep up throughout the Lenten season.

I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS GREAT BOOK THAT IS TRULY HELPING ME ON MY JOURNEY WITH CHRIST MY SAVIOR THIS LENTEN SEASON. IT IS ONLY FIVE TO TEN MINUTES OF MEDITATION HEART AND SOUL GRABBING, INFORMATIONAL PRAYER, TO THINK ABOUT THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY! :) :) :) THANK YOU AGAIN POPE FRANCIS AND MARK NEILSEN GOD BLESS!

Wonderful tool to use during Lent. Each day includes a homily or advice from Pope Francis, a scripture verse, and a prayer. Wish there was something like this to use throughout the year. Highly recommend.

I wanted to make Lent more meaningful this year, so I read the daily reflections written by Pope Francis. It was written in understandable terms, and I found it to be relevant to the times we live in.

This is a really good little book with a very brief reflection and prayer for each day of lent. It is a great way to start the day and food for reflection as you go through the day
