I've been a soapmaker for several years. I started following the soap queen in the beginning and she is an excellent resource. The recipes in here are good ones. Excellent for beginners as this book goes through the whole process.
To change up how I typically review items, I'm going to go from start to end.I love how the author tells the story about how soap began. You learn a little bit of history and it's done in a way that's actually quite interesting. (Five thousand years ago there was a form of soap .... who knew!) She used a few phrases that aren't really every day knowledge when it comes to general public. Talking about fat and oil could be misleading but following the history of soap, there is a glossary of terms that have been and will be used further along in the book. During the entire glossary she refers people to her YouTube channel and it's slightly off putting to use a term and then tell people to go somewhere else to see more details. Instead of adding to nearly every definition to go to the channel a simple annotation at the end would have sufficed. The directions for Cold Process Soap are very easy to follow. They're written very well and I think easy to understand!There are so many different soap making recipes! Love that there are pictures along with it to help guide you. Fantastic book! Looking forward to making my own soap soon!
Great instruction for new soapmakers with step by step instructions and moves into showing how to create different swirl and design techniques. Also includes information on using natural colorants. Soap Queen is a fantastic resource in the soapmaking community with excellent knowledge. Her tutorials are concise, thorough and easy to understand
All of the doesn't download. Large gap in pages which includes crucial information. I do not know if this is because I downloaded from kindle unlimited or not....but don't offer it as an option if I'm not getting the entire book
There were a lot of diverse recipes in this book, and truly something for everyone! I know I will be trying several of them. Thanks, Anne-Marie, for once again sharing your vast wealth of knowledge in soapmaking. Your love of the craft is infectious!
