This is an interesting account of how Wedgwood has morphed into the 21st century. It illustrates how current designers use and influence the look of Wedgwood--combining old with the new. I'm fascinated to see what lines and pieces from early production are esteemed by users today. The stories of the development of new designs are enlightening.Only con--I'm always looking for a value guide and that would have been a nice addition to this publication.
Lovely photos of unusual patterns in beautiful settings. Anice tribute to Wedgwood for their 250th anniversary.
I have wanted this book for years, now hard to find in bookstores so I bit the bullet and bought it online. I just love it, even more than I remembered! Tricia Foley is an amazing writer/decorator/author, etc. and I own nearly all of her books. I eagerly await the next book that she publishes. While I have never been a particular fan of the blue Wedgewood, this book is so much more than that! Much history is imparted in an interesting way and so many patterns and personal collections are shared. Thanks Tricia!
If this is a subject you are interested in you will be very happy with this book. The text is very readable, the pictures clear and well done, and it's interesting without being over-powering.
This is a nice book about Wedgwood. The beginning explains the origins and history of the company. The later sections are devoted chapters, each a few pages long, centering on different designers and their use of Wedgwood. This is a nice coffee book, but is not an encyclopedia type book and does not provide a full listing or catalog of Wedgwood.
