From the author: It was the fascination of granite ware and the need to know more about it that led me to write this book after years of research and study. I have been collecting for a number of years along with doing articles and talks on granite ware all over the country. Still, each piece I collect is aas exciting as the first. The need to share the knowledge I have acquired through the years with people who collect or those who just enjoy looking at and learning about granite ware, is most fulfilling to me. So many times, people would say, "Why don't you write a book on granite ware, because we have a need to know about what we are collecting?" I can't begin to tell you the hours it has taken to put this book together, but I do know that if I have helped to give people a better understanding of granite ware and its unending beauty, I will have accomplished what I set out to do. Very thorough book. All colors, sizes, and pieces of graniteware are well-represented. The book is older, so prices are not exactly correct, but if you want to know what you have, the age, and other pieces available, this book is very useful.
I love the book, I have looked at it practically every evening since I got it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the pricing is in the back of the book unlike book 2 which has the pricing with the item.
Great color pictures speak a thousand words and this one covers a lot! Now have vol. 1 and 2. Wish there was a #3.
