I really loved the writing in this book as the mother cat tries to get her kitten to wake up and go to school. His responses are cute and priceless.But even more, oh, the paintings! They're wonderful!
This story reminded me so much of trying to wake my daughter up everyday that I had to get it. She loves it too. We've read it half a dozen times now and while I point out how much like the cat she is, she points out what the mouse is doing in each picture. She's four now, so I'm hoping this book, with it's repetition and simple words will also serve as a reader for her to practice learning to read.
I bought this book for my 3 year old daughter and she really enjoyed it. It's a very adorable rhyming book. The illustrations and rhymes work perfectly together in making a simple yet fun story. My daughter and I read this book almost every day - reading this became one of our bonding moments. This is a great choice for introducing reading to children. Money well spent.
This is an adorable little board book about Kitty Cat having to get up and get ready for school. The verse is done in a sing-song rhyme and I like to read this to my grandson when it is time for getting ready for his parents to pick him up to go home. He likes to take his shoes and socks off at my house and part of the book is about find the Kitty Cat's shoes and socks.The illustrations are so cute, with Kitty Cat doing all sorts of silly things and poses that most toddlers and parents of toddlers can relate to. It is a sweet book and one that we read at least once a day.
I have this book four stars because while the book w as s cute it seemed very short. I wish it had been longer. It is a good length for a very young child who has a short attention span but seemed to be over too fast for my child. Lovely pictures however so it was worth the money. If it were in print I'd think it would sell for ten dollars because of the illustration.
The first Kitty Cat book we read was "Are You Going to School" and mu daughter absolutely loves it. She is not quite three and can recite the entire book. I saw this one at a great Kindle price and couldn't resist. She loves it, and little mouse, so we will probably end up getting this in hard cover.
Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, Are you Waking Up? is a cute rhyming book for preschoolers who can relate to many of the distractions that cause Kitty to be late. Kitty is very cheerful through it all and the text is catchy for children. The illustrations are done in a soft, colorful style that depicts the story nicely. Adorable little book that my little kitty lovers enjoy.
What a wonderful way to introduce your little ones to reading with you. The wonderful illustrations and rhymingsatisfy greatly on all counts. The author , Bill Martin Jr., is the main reason for the purchase and I wasn't disappointed.My very youngest grandchildren love it and so do the preschool children I read to on a weekly basis!
