I have a new Surface Pro 3. This book does not talk about the 3. The differences between 2 and 3 are sufficient to seriously degrade the value ofthis book. If I owned an older Surface, the book would be great.

Without this book I might as well have left my new Surface in the box, since I wasn't "getting it". After just a few minutes with "Surface for Dummies" I was on the road to a little understanding, and after 2 months with both in hand, I'm now using the Surface with some degree of confidence.

The book covers just about everything you need to know for a Surface Tablet and using the touchscreen interface. It goes through the Surface Pro 2 and Windows 8.1. However, Microsoft has already started shipping the Surface Pro 3. Mr. Rathbone will be kept busy just keeping up with the various releases of the Surface Tablet.I think most everything in the book can be related to the new Surface Pro 3. Good Book.

My wife has very little knowledge about using her MS Surface Pro 3. This will help out tremendously, since it is meant for beginners. It keeps the wording simple so that anyone can understand what it has to say. I have looked through the book and agree that it will allow a person to learn, step by step, how to operate and use their Surface Pro. This will help anyone, beginner or a person with prior experience, to find the book helpful. I think that it is a good reference book and that every one that has a Surface Pro should have one.

As far as I can tell, this is the only book available for the Surface. Found it helped the transition from using a PC with Windows XP to this very different software.

This book has not helped one bit because it does NOT HAVE SURFACE PRO 3 in it. I would have returned it by now but just so happened I have been sick in bed for 2 weeks; but would like to return it,; only have read the first number of pages.

I was disappointed because I have the newer Surface 3 and wrongly expected info on my Surface. but they do overflap into what I am using. If you have a Dummies for Surface 3 in the future, please let me know. Rogaylee
