I think that this book was very detailed and was a great book on how to build silencers. When I bought the book I didn't know anything about silencers and not only did it teach me how to make them but also the backround behind silencers and when and how they started. And the silencers work great!!!!
I like a challenge, Came out looking like I bought it...after rebuilding it 3 times. This book is so good at explaining, I did it right. ..Now the parts on the other hand, I had to order on line.
This book has very little technical information, other than dimensions for making the devices. It does not provide information on how well the devices work or why one might be better than another. If you need technical engineering information, try anything by Paulson (available on ). A waste of money.
Excellent how too review for hunters and historians. Gives info on use and great mechanical drawings comparing the various types of units as well as discussing the pros and cons of each style of unit.much better resource than the you tube video of the making of a silencer out of PVC and a hose clamp! wish the comments on current laws and fees for permits was more comprehensive!
I bought 3 books on silencers and of the 3 this was the best but, It looks like the plans are about 20-30 years out of date. You could make a can from the plans but I personally would not.
Simple book. Does have some good information. It gives you the basics of understanding the concepts of silencers. Fairly inexpensive book.
I bought several Kindle books about suppressors. This was probably fine 20 years ago, but he advocates building your own smooth bore barrel for the suppressor, and using hockey pucks for baffles. Save your money.
I am not sure if this was the book, but one of the other purchasers was complaining that you needed access to machine tools to make these things. I assumed that was understood. However, there are a couple of books that tell how to make more basic, cruder versions with only a drill press, files, and a couple of vices, but really, come on. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right.
