I passed this test about an hour ago. I studied for about a month before taking the test, using this book and the materials inside. I actually have already been working as an MDM admin for the last couple of years; I just took this test to cement and continue my education.In regards to test preparation, this test book does an okay job. I would say that the book itself is not at fault if you miss any questions ; the test itself is written very poorly. I would say that in regards to the test, this book helped me 30%, my experience helped me 30%, and my own logical test taking skills helped about 40%. The reason for this is that the test has lot of "choose the BEST option" questions. I actually have experience working in the industry as an MDM admin, and I can say that the options CompTIA provide may not actually be the BEST option. Sometimes one of the other options may actually be better or logical. These questions were the difficult for me, because I had to guess which answer CompTIA wanted, instead of what I knew was actually possible. When taking the test you have to think of things from a step back, and forget your actual work experience.I would advise anybody who plans to take the Mobility+ test to purchase this book. The knowledge inside will help you learn the material, but most importantly you will be able to use the practice questions to gauge what the test will be like. I would advise test takers to purchase this book in new condition, because the disc that comes inside has 200 practice questions. Each chapter (12 chapeters) also has about 20 practice questions, so that is a total of 440 questions.One important thing to note: the questions on the disc (for me at least) were way too easy. The difficulty of the questions inside the actual book better replicate the test. In my opinion, the real test was more difficult than both the book and the disc.
Just passed Mobility+ this morning. I have deep knowledge of MDM space but I still had to read whole book to prepare, since Mobility+ is more than just MDM knowledge test. As mentioned by another reviewer, there are several factors involved in passing this exam(1) your MDM knowledge/experience(2) figuring out what exactly CompTIA is asking in a particular question, since I can definitely remember 10+ questions in which I was confused(3) reading this book end-to-end.I dint find questions in the exam more difficult than questions provided in book and DVD. I think they were on same level.Troubleshooting chapters are important as well, need to study them carefully.Exam is easier for MDM guys and Networking guys for sure. This book covers network part well.
1) A great book! I wish I could find the authors contact info. I think He is working with Mike Myers on some other books now.2) I passed Mobility+ with this book, and the chapters were really great. If you are taking the CompTIA Mobility+ and are thinking of buying this book, as others have said buy it new, as it has a CD\DVD disc that contains a .PDF version of the book and more importantly "total tester" by "Total Seminars (who I think is owned by Mike Myers). That Total Tester program has a lot of test simulation questions and you can use that to "gauge" what areas you need to study more on.3) I've been working in Information Technology for over 25+ years..and I admit I "hate" tests! I actually read about the authors background and have a similar background to His. I'm actually going to be teaching this certification nationwide for a large organization.In closing, this certification is "worth" getter, and this book provides the way to gain that certification. Just passed the Mobility+ today I would say this book is an excellent resource. I read the book once and highlighted the italicized words and review before the test and passed.
This book will give you a lot of the information you need to be successful testing for Mobility+ certification.
