I have read over 40 books on money, and stewardship in the last 10 years, and this book was a breath of fresh air amongst them all. I highly recommend this book if you are needing to redeem your finances. It will put money in the proper perspective, its a tool. Its not a sin to be rich or poor. The "sin" comes in based upon what we do with what we've been given.
First off, if you are not a Christian, you WON'T get it or you will compound it to 'yah right'. If you are a Christian, YOU HAVE TO READ IT! This book is challenging me in many areas that deal with money but also in other areas too! If you really want to be free in your walk with God, you really, really, really need to read this. You will be challenged beyond your wildest dreams. And if you are not, then you need to read it again!Enjoy!
I had read one-half of this book when I borrowed it from a library. Unfortunately I did not get it finished before having to return it. I felt the material was so important that I needed to own the book and be able to highlight material pertinent to myself. God is clear to us about what he wants us to do with what he gives us. If he can't trust us with small amounts, how can he trust us with riches. I am praying for wisdom and guidance on what I do with what he gives me from now on, and pray that I don't forget to put Him first.
I remember after reading this book, I said to myself "WOW!" The insights in this book are phenomenal. It literally opened my prospertive on money and how God intended for us to view money, understand its value and how to receive it. One fascinating revelation this book conveyed was the two spiritual systems that exist in the world. It is amazing how these spiritual systems operates. you have to get this book, it will revolutionize your view of money. The author also discussed principles in the bible were not intended to become the be all, end all of getting money. we are to truly trust God when it comes to getting money. This book is a must have in your collection of wisdom.
This book is a must read. It is the best book by far on Biblical principals on finances that I've ever read. The explanation of the word Mammon is liberating beyond words. The Closed Circle chapter is also an extremely important concept. There are so many good and liberating parts in this book that they can not all be listed -- that's why you must read it!
Some of us were blessed to have parents who provided sound biblical teaching on finances, but for the rest of us this book gives the information that we all so desperately need. It will set you free from the endless rat race and chasing of material things for 'security', so that you can fearlessly pursue your God-given purpose. How many of us would love to leave our jobs but can't because it is supposedly our "source" of income? Well, read this book and you'll figure out just how little power your boss really has over your life and your financial situation and discover that God is a PROVIDER/SOURCE at all times, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your job is only a pipeline he uses to get you finances. Wooohooooo! what a breakthrough thought!!!!! This book has changed my life and I've already recommended it to 3 people. Trust me when I say you'll never make a wiser investment. Put your money into this book and see what happens from there. God has something to tell you no matter how much debt your in and no matter how small your income. There is a God that is willing to do what everyone else says is impossible.
It is such a pity that more church organisations and even banks are distributing this book for free to those who need assistance with managing their finances. If this had been done sooner the national economy of each country could have been so positive in outlook and even the global fiscal growth would have been in double-digit figures for 2012/3.Basically the book opens up one's eyes and the conscience in matters linked to keeping any financial promise one makes to pay a creditor what is due to them on time. It then helps one establish a budget based on needs after servicing their debts (and not every desire they see to keep up with their better-off friend). Once the family is becoming cash positive the book helps them get priorities to save and then purchase large items responibly with the use of financial institutions that can now trust them. Once the family is getting the process correct the book opens the family's eyes to caring for those less fortunate than themselves and in so doing further curbs unwanton spending.Yes the book is based on the Christian religion. Yes the book is based on principles in the Bible. Yes the book is only a guide to get back to what is most important in terms of personal-; family- and societal- values.The book will remain just head knowlegde unless the principles therein are implemented practically as you read each chapter. It is when it is made a reality that one sees the changes coming quick and positive.A MUST READ for everyone globally!
