Very clear photographs of knives from custom makers around the world. Great resource for tracking knife design trends particularly when reviewed against an older edition of the book. The articles are well written and cover areas of interest that would appeal to a wide general audience.Overall a good book if you are interested in custom made knives or are looking for a little design inspiration for a knife you are making.I buy the Knives annual every year but this year there wasn't really anything that stood out about it for me that makes it any more than an average edition that's why I gave it the rating I have.
TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. A useless publication consisting of hundreds of pictures of knives, with a small thumbnail description - this is almost ZERO VALUE. I'm not looking to get off on seeing a bunch of pictures (one off thing) by a bunch of unknown knife makers. I expected SOME CONTENT of value, these Annual books have known, it is simply a way for the publisher to CAPITALIZE on what they have.ALSO, there was nothing on the established or famous knife makers, just 99% unknowns - LIKE THEY HAD PAID "BLADE" TO PUBLISH A PICTURE OF THEIR KNIFE!
Good read but editors should take a stand and refuse to include any blade including elephant ivory, pre-ban or not! There are many many beautiful alternative materials in this day and age not to promote this cruel practice of elephant slaughter.
I always enjoy leafing through the Knives year books. For the first time I bought the latest (2015) on Kindle and am going back to to buy the actual book. I find it too awkward on my iPad trying to go back and re-read articles and to find specific knives. Too bad you can't trade a Kindle version for the book version! The content, as usual, is excellent.
KNIVES 2015 has 312 pages of which 192 are about knives and 120 a directory (62 and 38 percent respectively). Today most directories are found in Internet, so there's no need to pay for one, that surely has been already paid by those included in it.Articles are really good and pictures are out of this world. But, a 120 pages directory is a bad joke.
A wonderful presentation of custom knives! Included in the book are the makers and suppliers. If you are a knife collector this is a must have. Full color!
Always a pleasure to read and enjoy. Beautiful photography. Quality photos and informative stories. Look forward to a new issue every year.
I get this book every year. Excellent articles and.excellent pictures. Actually incredible photography and organization.
