OK, well I suppose I'm in the minority here, considering all other reviewers gave this book rave reviews. But, here's my take and why I gave it only 3 stars.1) The title imo, is a little misleading. If you read the title, you'd expect designs that include soldering, wire wrapping, beading....etc. However, what I found is the ENTIRE 1st half of the book is basically the same exact design except for the shape and piece of "china dinnerware" that is wrapped in copper foil, soldered, and strung with some jump rings onto a chain to make a necklace. I was expecting more variety in designs, not a variety of the piece of China used! It's like demonstrating how to do a square knot bracelet, but simply altering the shape and color of the beads used.....2) Wire wrapping? I'd estimate there is about 5-10% of wire wrapping in the whole book. At least that's what it seemed like to me.3) A better title for the book would be: Upcycling China Glass with Soldering Techniques & Silver Vintage Flatware with Basic Metalsmithing into Shabby Chic Jewelry. Now, I'm not a jewelry book writer, but I do own a few hundred jewelry books, and more than a thousand other books. I felt mislead.4) It should be noted somewhere this book is NOT for beginners. If you've never soldered, you'd be lost trying to do these pieces.5) The SECOND half of the book is about 80% upcycled vintage silver or stainless steel dinnerware fashioned into jewelry designs. And to complete the, one needs basic experience with Metalsmithing. Again, not much wire wrapping, with only a few beads added to enhance the pieces. Hence why I think the book title is misleading. (oh, yes.. there are a couple projects with leather strips for one to create a definite boho chic "feel" to it!
