I have to say that there were a few recipes that I've seen before, but the ideas are great reminders and the fresh look at an old favorite never hurts. An ingredient or 2 changed and - a new taste. These are simple, tasty recipes with an ingredient we almost all have in our homes. I've even made a recipe from the book and then the next time, used sweet potatoes. What a great change of pace for an old standard.
Since I love potatoes and am always searching for new recipes for my beloved potatoes, this cookbook is just what I was searching for!+ The recipes are easy to follow and most of them do not take that long to prepare.+ This cookbook views well even on my small 7 inch tablet.+ Most of the recipes in this book I love! This makes this cookbook so special because most of the time, I just like a few recipes.Highly recommend this cookbook to you if you love potatoes!
This book offers recipes that are good as written, but that are also idea-launchers. Good ol' reliable staple, the potato -- you may be surprised how creative you can get with it. Various types of potatoes are cooked with delicious and unusual twists and turns that won't break the bank. Keep your sense of humor: the way the recipes are written is unusual, too. A few grammatical twists and turns, but so what? Such not-succinct directions as "Start by turning on the oven. then get a pan" can be overlooked with a smile -- it's a nice change from professionally formatted recipes. Accept this book on its own terms and you will find some real treasures inside.
I think this is a must cook book for those of us that love potatoes. My family keeps asking me to continue trying the new recipes we've found in this book, this is because they have loved everything I've fixed so far. These recipes seem to have been written just for our family, becasue we love them all (all 50).
I love potatoes and I am always looking for new ways to fix them and this book is full of some really delicious sounding recipes and I can't wait to try them all. Thank you
While the recipes in this book range from basic to fancy (like the sweet potato gnocchi), the recipe instructions are a pile of sentences that are difficult to read. There are no breaks in steps, just giant paragraphs. The descriptions of the recipes are a bit confusing, as well. Some of them read as though the writer was using a thesaurus and picking out the fanciest sounding words.I was surprised to see sweet potato recipes, since this is supposed to be a book about potato recipes. They are not the same thing. Considering it's only 50 recipes, it could have easily been just potatoes.For the price, it's not a terrible starting point, but if you're looking for a real recipe book with good instructions, I would not recommend this book. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 simply because it is not too bad if you are on a tight budget and have some experience using recipes so you can get through the instructions.
