Jaime Baker is a wonderful teacher, her directions leave you very clear about what it takes to produce a professional looking product. Being a horse lover for all my life, I was able to reproduce some of my favorite horses using her instructions.Hats off to Jaime for making her expensive and hard to find original book into a product that is affordable and easy to use on your own computer! Beginners to experienced pastel users can benefit from her guidelines as well as the special tips she has learned along the way.This, the third of the three that makes up the whole book, has several of the more unusual color coats, as well as information on doing the hooves, mane and tail, and eyes. She also includes tips on selling and photography.
This book is useful, but I was expecting actual advanced techniques to be demonstrated. Instead there are whole-body shots of the models (very few close-ups) and no images of the actual work being done- only how the next stage looks. I read all the text and there are a few gems, but as a whole I didn't find it nearly as useful as I'd hoped. The main thing I found useful was learning the exact materials used.
A great book. It gives you a good base on how to figure out your own patterns, as well as providing excellent color tutorials. The supply list is very helpful, and all the products are very inexpensive. An amazing book if you're just getting into customizing.
