The content is atrocious. I guess if you are just starting out in the creative suite it could be SOMEWHAT helpful, but seriously? This book is trash. The 'designs' and labs in this book are an eyesore. Just sign up for lynda.com to learn about Ai, Ps, and iD. Seriously this book was the biggest waste of money ever, I cant believe my teacher/faculty okay'd this book for our class... If you have to get this book like me just go with the eBook, cheapest option. You will never use this book again.

I can't believe this book is required for my class. The page layout is nearly unreadable. The text is fantastic as long as you just need to learn which buttons to push and not why. Many of the hilighted techniques are outdated. I wish I could return it.

If you're looking for a quick, easy way to be introduced to photo editing software, this is it. As someone who's studying for an Associates in Marketing (eventually Masters) and steering towards ad design, I felt so overwhelmed by these programs. This book outlines everything you need to know. The reading portion is written in simple terms with clear definitions. I read about 65% of it; there's great information in it, but a lot of it can be inferred from the tutorials. I'm taking my first Publication Design course and have been passing with an A by just reading (and doing) the tutorials. The tutorials are 100% worth investing your time in. I am literally passionate about this book. It's been a wonderful tool for me, supplying me with information I need for my career.

I had to purchase this book and the web edition for my digital design class; it is overall a pretty good tool to learn the programs, but there were a few things that threw me off about it. I found that a lot of the text focused on the design industry rather than the actual programs (which is great, but not completely relevant to the book's topic). I stopped doing the exercises altogether after completing InDesign because it the way they are written was aggravatingly oversimplified and dumbed down. However, despite its flaws this book played a big role in me earning my InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop certifications!

Anyone skilled enough to write an instructional book should be smart enough to know how to include page numbers in the book. Though it appears to be well-written and possibly helpful, the fact that page numbers are missing is aggravating, frustrating, and unacceptable. Is this a new trend in textbooks?

I was forced to use this book for a class that I was taking. I learned the entire Adobe CC suite using the Adobe Classroom in a Book series and it blows this out of the water. The projects in this book are horrible, it can be difficult to learn in a good way, and most of the printed graphics are off from what you will actually see on the screen. My advice, if this is for personal and professional development look elsewhere.

I felt like I had already known about a lot of the information covered in this book. I think it's probably a good source for a total beginner.
