My teacher for Illustrator and Photoshop reasons that you can't like one program better than the other. I agree with him... personally, I hate both equally. BUT, it seems computers are a necessary evil in the fashion design world now, so I selected the first edition of this book from my school library. YAY! Very easy to follow instructions and a few 'cheats' that we weren't taught in our class. Doesn't speak 'computer-ese', uses everyday english to teach. I'm ordering the new version to keep on hand in case I ever need it for my further forays into fashion design.
Nice introductory book. Walks through the necessary steps needed to be proficient at design tasks. Organized in easy to follow units. Would recommend to any beginner

With this text along with the program, this helped get me an A on my final projects and an A out of my class.
