Leprechaun in Late Winter was an awesome book. I am in 2nd grade and love reading Magic Tree House books. I learned a lot about Ireland and leprechauns. This book would make a great St. Patrick's Day gift!
This is a great story about an interesting, but not very well known (to me anyway) lady from Irish history, Augusta, later known as Lady Gregory. I won't give away what she becomes in case anyone doesn't know, because this story kept me guessing until the end and I don't want to ruin it for anyone.Jack and Annie are taken back in time and transported to Ireland to help Augusta for reasons unknown to them, but through a series of trial and error, and of course high adventure they find out their purpose and get the job done, putting Augusta on the right path. A lesson about how helping others doesn't always translate into being a good person if you aren't very nice is also thrown into the story, which I thought was a nice added element. A lot of attention is given to the si (pronounced shee) or fairies of Irish folktales which is a lot of fun for kids and adults to read about. This was a great adventure story, enjoyed by all who attended the kid's book club I hosted it with(including myself).
This was a great book. I know that this book is very lightreading for me but I have always loved this series. Inthis book Jack and Annie are sent by Merlin on a MerlinMission. They go to Ireland in the 19th century and theirmission is to inspire a girl named Augusta so that she canshare her amazing gift, her mesmerizing potential with therest of the world. Jack and Annie face a few obstaclesalong the way but after all that is one of the milestonesin making a great story, creating conflicts. Theysuccessfully achieve their goal in the end. This was a good book. I personally liked it. The onlything that I don't like about this series is that theauthor always follows the same format. She never varies ordifferentiates from her strict format. Other than thestory itself. That is what gets you fed up with theseries. You know, if you're not a 7 year old.Reviewed by a young adult student reviewerFlamingnet Book ReviewsTeen books reviewed by teen reviewers
I love reading these books to my children. We haven't found one that we didn't like. I always learn something new from the facts that the fiction is based on.We have also listened to some of the books on CD in the car and they are enjoyed by the whole family.
My six year old grandson has loved all of the series. I enjoy the stories because they tell history that makes it interesting for the child to understand. The history lesson encourages discussion on ethics of the time verses now.
The best book I chose this rating tis the best book ever!! This book is one of the best magic tree house ever because I am Irish so it inspires me a lot to become who you really are and not who you want to be. Never become someone else I am 11 and I still read these books since I was 5. It inspires me so you should read it it is the best series ever!!!
THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!Its about Jack and Annie go to Ireland where they meet a girl named Auguasta (A.K.A. Miss Auguasta) and she soon gets shrunk and Jack and Annie must get her back to inspire her.To find out the rest...GET THIS BOOK!
My grandson likes for me to read this series, so we have actually read a lot of them. This book was actually one of my favorites. It was well written and told a great story while being entertaining.
