I read this book 10 years ago before going on the mission field, and it is EXCELLENT!!! I have recommended it to so many people, even bought it for some. The Bible studies in the appendices are the best part. I remember the author saying in one of the first chapters something like if you haven't spend at least 30-40 hours studying how God funded His work throughout the Bible and what He says about finances, then he doesn't want you reading his book. I was definitely convicted by that and spent the next month studying God's Word on the topic, using the very helpful and thorough studies in the appendices, and I really believe God honored that. I didn't continue reading the rest of the book until I had spent a lot of time alone with God learning from His Word first. The Bible studies given and the rest of the information and guidelines in the book really helped increase my faith in God's faithfulness and providence, and helped me get over the uncomfortable feelings that I was asking people for money, so that I have a more Biblical outlook on funding ministry. (Didn't even have time to finish the book or do everything it said before leaving the country, but GOD did provide all the support I needed in a matter of about 5 weeks!!).Because of God's grace and faithfulness, I've been on the field for almost 10 years now, and I'm so thankful to HIM for providing, teaching, correcting, and helping me in counltess ways; for guiding Scott Morton to give us this extremely helpful book; and especially for ALL the people who have partnered with me- praying for and supporting the ministry He's given us. May God bless you as you read this book, study His Word, and do what He's called you to partner with Him in... I know HE WILL!!

This book has been so important for me in preparing to fundraise for our ministry. Morton gives us a biblical view of how God sees money, ministry and missions. After no less than 5 people recommended that I get this book, I relented and ordered it immediately. I'm so glad I did. If you are in the process of raising support or preparing to do so; don't waste another day without this guidance!

This book has helped me out so much. I gave my first copy away to a friend so I had to buy an other!!! I have read an other book on fundraising and Scott Morton is referenced several times. This book should be in every missionary or church planters library!

A very helpful and practical book for doing fundraising! Having been a ministry fundraiser for the past 15 years, I read this book both when I started and again last month to refresh myself on the basics. I liked it even more the second time!My one critique (which is not Morton's fault) is that it's feeling outdated in the realm of practicals. As long as you can translate some of the ideas into a modern-day context (like how to use social media, texting, MailChimp, etc.), it's a really great resource. And has often been said of this book, the Bible study in the Appendix is worth every penny!

I recommend this book to anyone looking to grow spiritually in the area of funding in today's church. If you are starting you own faith based program, I also recommend you reading this book. The writing of the book gives very detailed views on how to can reach goals of being fully funded to compete the work they are call to do. Each chapter hits on topic that need to be cover by many people entering the mission field and needing to get an understand on how to fund your ministry. I enjoyed the the step by step process details given. I have been in church all of my like, and this book helped my gain an understanding on how to approach the topic of money scripturally and spiritually. I would have liked a more modern outlook. Overall this was a fine read.

Lots of practical tips for the church worker or missionary that needs to raise his own support. Not all missions will agree or permit you to follow all of his guidelines, but mentally edit out the suggestions that don't apply with your mission. There are enough other general tips that it's worth reading the book.

This book is for anyone heading to the mission field and needs help raising support, it deals with rejection, fear, phone contacts etc. etc. We used the book in our online course "Kingdom Come Training" which is fully supporting missionaries to getting 100% funding! I HIGHLY recommend both the book and course together. Kathy

This book was recommended as part of a course we took and I found it is well written. The original version was purchased for my Kindle, but have also purchased several paper backs. For those of us in ministry it is a great tool to understand, from a Biblical perspective, the place of partnering rather than "support" raising. A definite must read.
