This is a must for any collector of Antiques. This book is very useful in determining origin and identifying the makers mark on many different items.I gave this book to my mother as a gift. My mother is a very serious collector of bottles, glass and other antiques and she said she adores this book. She found it to be very helpful.
It is a great little book and would have given it a 5 star except for one thing: the print is so small that I need help reading it. Not until I retired did I have time to indulge in the pastime of collectibles and antiques but now my eyesight is not what it used to be. Print this small is a challenge for many of us older ones.
Great pictures. Big help that it shows some marks for reference in research. Perfect reference book to have for collectors or dealers.
It is hard to have a small and concise guide on such a vast subject, however I was a bit disappointed that there weren't more examples. Possibly, for a field guide without internet access, this may be helpful IF you are looking up a mark that happens to be in here.
This is a very valuable reference resource to add to one's reference library, especially if one is buying and selling antiques. It isn't the only reference you should have; but, it definitely is a very valuable reference.
If you are interested in antiques then you probably have heard of these books. If you have not, you must own at least one of the series. Educational, informative and helpful reference. A timeless reference book.
This book is set up a like a field guide for antiques, sorted into categories and color coded for easier searching. It reminds me of my favorite bird guide. This book is loaded with all kinds of maker's marks. Hoping my receiver of this gift finds it helpful in her antique searches.
