Before you consider your purchase, you should note that Que has two books covering the iPad. In addition to this book, they also have a more advanced title called My iPad. That title provides a more detailed look at the iPad with beginner topics as well as more advanced topics such as recording video with your iPad, creating and formatting documents with the Pages app, creating spreadsheets, forms and charts with the Numbers app, putting together presentations with the Keynote app, finding locations and getting directions with the Maps app, etc. With that said, My iPad for Seniors is a good beginner's guide to the iPad. The book begins with the very basics about how to get started using the iPad and it covers iOS8 for all models of iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad 3rd/4th generation, and iPad 2.The book then goes on to provide information about customizing the iPad so that you can make it work the way you prefer, as well as setting it up for online access via WiFi or cellular and then syncing it up with iCloud and iTunes. You’ll also learn how to play music and video, read eBooks, access the Internet via the Web, send/receive messages via email, messaging, and Twitter, take and organize photos (with some basic editing info), and manage apps. Later chapters explain how to use the iPad in your everyday life.
