Liberty Blue Dinnerware (Schiffer Book For Collectors)

Blue and white ironstone dinnerware has been collected for many years, and the introduction of the Liberty Blue pattern in 1975 by Enoch Wedgwood of England, with its fifteen different historic scenes of colonial America, brought forth keen interest. Here the Old North Church, Minutemen, West Point, Independence Hall, Mount Vernon, and many more historic sites are shown. The Liberty Blue promotion coincided with America's Bicentennial celebrations, causing more people to become interested in owning a set for themselves. Color photographs beautifully illustrate all the pieces in a complete set, and interesting facts are given about each historic scene. Updated prices are included in the captions and the associated glassware and ceramic pieces are carefully described. Original advertisements and brochures are included to provide extensive accurate information. This is the first book about Liberty Blue dinnerware and is sure to become a valuable reference guide for collectors trying to build a complete set.

This book is a MUST for all collectors of patriotic Liberty Blue dinnerware, a grocery store premium that celebrated the Bicentennial years of the mid-1970's. The Coes combine excellent photos, realistic values and lots of historical information in this brief book.

I bought some of this dinnerware in 1976 when it was in the stores, and recently began purchasing more pieces on eBay. This book gives the history of the art and shows all of the pieces, so that I know what I still need to hunt down. The photography is lovely, and the descriptions are clear and tell me what I want to know. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in this pattern.

Liberty Blue Dinnerware is compact, concise and provides everything a collector or dealer needs. Debbie and Randy Coe have done an excellent job of providing the history of Liberty Blue Dinnerware with pictures of original ads adding value to the readers experience. The pictures are excellent and the organization of the book makes it easy for identification purposes including descriptions, measurements and current values. Although the book is a "soft cover" the glossy pages are first rate and enhance the quality of the pictures.Buy it, use it, enjoy it. Value pricing makes it that much better!

I purchased this book to help complete a Liberty Blue dish collection. I wanted to know what all of the pieces are. The book also shows an estimated value on each piece. A lot of the historical information is fun but it is used very repetitively. All in all the book is worth the price.

Thank you very much for providing me with this informative book. It answers everything I have wondered and a whole lot more!

This is a quality book that provides loads of information on the Liberty Blue China pieces of the 70's. Well documented and presented in a first class fashion.
