downloaded to my kindle and realized that all of the patterns and photos in this book are from various free crochet websites... not written by the so-called "author" - should check up on this more... it is wrong on all levels on the "author's" part to rip off others' hard work... Not impressed. Deleting it from my account asap.
These Are All Free Patterns you can find online- via public domain or through any crochet website- Why give money to this person who got them for free, that someone ELSE did all the work for already, and is NOT getting paid for them? Shame shame...
Okay, thing is, I didn't read every word. Thing is, I just leafed through it to see if it had enough patterns to be worth keeping on my Kindle Fire to give me my next hat project.I don't know why it is titled with the word Hacks. Simple terms for newer pattern readers maybe, but you wouldn't be a newbie to make the patterns in this book. You would already know a lot about crocheting. If not there are plenty of YouTubes out there to guide you. I know, I watch YouTubes for everything I want to learn. crocheting, knitting, loom knitting, etc.But this book compiled a good bunch of hats. Since I belong to a group of wonderful people that are making hats for charity, I am always looking for new patterns and a way to keep the patterns all in one place. I saw several hats in the book I look forward to trying them soon. If they don't work out, I will come back here and change my review to fewer stars. If I find the patterns to be excellent I will raise the rating.
There are no hacks in this book, ie no way around the work you put into a project, no simple tricks to make your work look complex and intricate... there are, however, 25 fairly easy crochet hat patterned that will turn out a nice hat.
I like this book as it saves me from having to search the net for them. These are a nice collection, and it does take time to find these online (especially the free ones); so, I would say that it is well worth the small price. I've not completely reviewed all of the patterns yet so I'll get back to this evaluation if/when I complete that task.
This is stealing. How is it legal to take other people's free patterns and sell them as your own? needs to go through and get rid of the (many) pattern books like this that have snuck onto the marketplace.
It's an okay book with some quick projects. Nothing particularly exciting.
I haven't been terribly motivated to try any of these patterns yet. Did they mean to say hats instead of hacks? This will teach me to look before I buy.
