I really like the way this book is structured. It makes perfect sense to list the recipes in the order that you will need to prepare them. Making some of the recipes ahead of time will really help to take the pressure off on Christmas day. The Yummy Christmas Fudge is just like my mother's recipe. Every year, I asked her to make this for my birthday instead of a cake. The Turkey Soup recipe is a great way to use up leftover turkey. Smart and economical. As a nice bonus, there are recipes from the author's seven other cookbooks. Highly recommended.
I'm in the mood for new Christmas recipes. Although it's comforting to make the same things every year, I'm ready to create some new favorites. At first I was put off by reading the table of contents because the recipe order didn't make sense - until I read the Introduction; makes perfect sense and I really appreciate Grandma thinking of this!Lots of good eats in this book. I'm going to try and sneak some new recipes into our holiday, specifically Cherry Shortbread, Dilled Honey Carrots, Yummy Turnip Casserole and maybe even the stuffing for the turkey... can't wait! Highly recommended.
This cookbook has some incredibly scrumptious recipes in it. From Red Pepper Jelly, which makes a great gift, to Christmas Shortbread, to Eggnog, the ingredients are easy to obtain and the directions are clear and concise.If you are looking for some special treats to make for your family or to give as gifts, this cookbook will give you just what you need.And don't miss out on the bonus of additional recipes in the back of her book from her other cookbooks. It's a nice treat I wasn't expecting.
I have to honestly say, that although I have not done a lot of cooking in my day, there are some recipes in this book that I am going to try! First off, Almond Roca is one of my favorites from a local store in the mall called See's Candy, and I found a recipe for it in this book! I'm excited!Another thing I want to try is Tourtiere. This is why I bought the book. I was looking for recipes from Canada. So when I try this one, it should be a real treat! Thanks!

I found this book very helpfull with easy to do recipies, a lot of interesting tips andi would definatley recomend it to everyone who loves to cook because there are loads of fantastic recipies.
As usual Marg has outdone herself with these easy to prepare and delicious recipes for Christmas. I have never made a Christmas pudding for my Brit, but I am going to make the Christmas Carrot Pudding for him and I agree with Marg's son that puddings should be flamed so I will flame mine.The Dilled Honeyed Carrots will grace our table at Christmas because I've already tried them and they were fantastic.I have most of Grandma's books, but I thought that it was very special to have some of the favorites from her other cookbooks included at the end.I Highly recommend this book. The recipes in it will become some of your Christmas Favorites.
I was so happy to see another cookbook by Marg Ruttan. She always produces quality books and Grandma's Best Christmas Recipes is no exception. This book has classic and original recipes for main courses like roast turkey with dressing & glazed ham and sides like dilled honeyed carrots & yummy turnip casserole. There are recipes for hot mulled wine and hot spiced apple cider. And the dessert recipes are excellent! ~ fruit cake cookies, light fruitcake cookies, rum balls, cherry ice box cookies and more. I loved this cookbook and will use it to help plan my Christmas menu.
