I like this book in that most of the makers marks I come across are listed. The only thing is, there is not a lot of info on the makers. I guess I was expecting more info like history and location. Maybe this info in not available so that is why it is not in the book, the bigger makers are listed with some bio's but not as many as I expected. It is worth buying and I do not regret it.
I heard good things about this book but I don't think it lives up to its reputation. It never seems to have the marks I'm looking for when I research my vintage Mexican silver jewelry. Oh well, it's really the only book out there on Mexican jewelry so it's better than nothing.
Bille Hougart is a fantastic author and devoted to his subject matter. If you collect Native American, southwest or Mexican jewelry any of his books are highly recommended reference material! Thanks Bille!
There are still many pieces that I cannot find hallmarks on that are Mexican. However: I know there are many newer artists that are continually coming of age and recognition.
EXCELLENT TRANSACTION. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING MEXICAN JEWELRYABSOLUTELY REQUIRED FOR MEXICAN JEWELRY COLLECTORS.RECOMMENDED!!!!! AND APPRECIATIVE!!!
This is another wonderful book with lots of information about Mexican silver. I have the other two editions, and this one lists some new information.
This book came lightening fast and saved my life!I final knew what I was looking at and why I was confused!I'm not confused any more.
This is quite a compilation of Hallmarks. The only thing that would make this book better would be a little more history about the artists.
