To be honest, I don't know how this book came to my attention but since it was free, I got it. I have never wanted to blog; therefore, my curiosity was aroused. I found the book to be easy reading, and explains the technical setup of the domain, hosting, wordpress theme easy to follow...even for beginners. I don't know how long the book will be free on kindle, but if you get a chance to get it and you're looking to set up a quick website or a blogsite get this book to guide you how!
I absolutely LOVE this book! Gundi has accomplished with this wonderful guide book what I believe others have failed to do..and that is...she gently brings her readers to a level of confidence where direct, affordable action can be taken right away, because she guides you and advises you in the most practical, down-to-earth, affordable way, each and every step of the way. AND! You don't have to do all of it at once! Her book clearly guides you to confidently and successfully establish and operate your very own, self-determined blogging site. This book certainly belongs in any budding social entrepreneur's library!
For most would-be bloggers, this book is ideal as a starter. It doesn't confuse you with a lot of choices, just offers a few ways that the author used to start her own blog. She has been successful at it, so she offers proven advice. It focuses on using WordPress software, one that 70% of bloggers use. Then straight-to advice on hosting, creating your brand, set up, using themes and plugins. She also offers a few recommendations on programs for further training on topics such as Google Analytics and Marketing Training.You get key advice and steps that are more than worth the price of the book. Just got this book yesterday and finished it today!! This was a quick, no nonsense, book! Just the way I like it! I have an existing blog using wordpress and I wish I had this book while setting everything up! This book literally teaches you all of the basics that you really need to know to get started! She did all of the legwork you need to know and just has a way of explaining it in its simplest form. She also gives many great suggestions on how to grow your blog once you are up and running! And the thing that impressed me the most was that she emailed me back and answered any further questions that I had!!! So happy with this book!
I have been blogging for years, using blogger, but then decided over a year ago to start a WordPress blog. I started it and am self-hosting my blog. I consider myself not a beginner but just above that when it comes to WordPress. So when I first got this eBook, I was thinking this will be like the others, probably no new information just the usually stuff I already know. And yes the first few chapters were stuff I already knew, great for a beginner though, the author really walks you through the differences and can help you get started with your blog. The best thing happened to me when I got to step six, this was something I needed help to learn more about, I have now moved my blog up a notch by follower her advice on the plugins and also her resource list.I really feel this book is a great book to start reading if you want to learn more about WordPress. I know I did learn a few things, and the other stuff I already knew, is also important. I am giving this book 5-stars because I learned from it and felt it was written well and easy to understand. I am still not 100% fan of WordPress but this book did help me to understand more. I am glad the author wrote it.
This is a GREAT book. Especially the resources, which were awesome. I have read many books on starting a blog, but this one is unique and better than most. I learned something new. Normally I am against a book promoting the author but author does have a cool background that adds more to the book. A great job overall. 5 stars.
When I had a first look in this guide, it drew me in and I wanted to get started immediately creating a Wordpress blog. It's all step by step so I know I can't miss. And I also loved the bonus on picking a domain name. Very helpful.
I started a new blog about a month before reading this book (I'm a total computer laymen) and the beginning was hard. If I had this book from the start it would have been much easier. It also thought me some cool stuff I didn't know I can do in Wordpress. Thank you - you rock!!
